but as pastor told you we're going to depart a little bit from our normal format and he may have committed a critical error as he told me that I can go all the way to 140 and if necessary we could split it so buckle up also as

you've noticed I've elected not to use the headset big daddy said you want to put the headset on I said well I don't think that would be a good idea because what tends to happen is when I step down then I talked a long time so I'm going

to try understand that there's a lot of ground to cover and so this will be somewhat different as pastor noted don't worry if you don't get all of the notes because we are producing a booklet and so you can go through that at your own

pace and dig and search and that sort of thing and I found in looking at this and attempting to sort of synthesize all the information together that honestly there's more than you can cover in 90 minutes and there's only so much that

you can absorb in a given time so I've endeavored to streamline it somewhat and sketch the broad outline give a lot of scriptural references and then I mean clearly you can study more on your own just to lay the foundation turn with me

if you will will go to 1st Thessalonians 5 I like to look in verse 20 just as a principle let's start at verse 21 it says to examine everything carefully and hold fast that which is good abstain from

every form of evil that's an instruction to the church and yes it was to the church in Thessalonica it carries through the ages to us we're told to examine carefully and through that process as we examine we determine

through God's Word what is true and what isn't true carefully means that you put a little time and effort into it an examination is not a cursory glance it's more like placing it under a microscope and seeing the thing in its totality and

then understanding it we seek to understand and then what comes out of that process is you see what is true you hold on to that and you see what is not and you let that go that's the process that we're given and let's go to Acts

chapter 17 just to see a biblical example their acts 17 will start in verse 11 now the gospel was coming to people who hadn't heard the gospel these were some who had been spread out and so the Apostle Paul was preaching there in

Thessalonica as we were just looking to their book and it says that he went to the Bereans verse 11 and these were more noble minded than those in Thessalonica for they received the word with great eagerness examining the scriptures daily

to see whether or not these things are so now that's the basis for us as Christians you know the Protestant Reformation when Luther recognized that the church that was called the Catholic Church the universal Church had

confiscated all the Bibles written it in an obscure language and begun to teach things that were in fact heretical when he finally got that translated into German a language that he could understand he was dumbfounded he was

astounded and how far off course they had gotten and so his cry was Sola scriptura which means the scripture only the scripture is the foundation for what we believe in it is the truth of God it is

god-breathed and it is profitable its words are true and we can trust the account that God gives we don't give our human reasoning that throne God is on the throne his word is the truth alright also I just want to notice that

departing in a small way can lead to big trouble one of the attributes that Satan is given as God describes him in the scripture is that he's subtle now subtle means that the departures that he makes from the truth are small departures turn

with me to Genesis chapter 3 quickly and I recognize this isn't the subject proper but I want to establish a groundwork and I want you to understand why it's necessary it's necessary for us to look at these issues and determine

what is true and what is false and also not to be ignorant of our enemies devices and the way that he works so in chapter 3 notice in verses 4 through 6 the serpent said to the woman oh you won't surely die God knows in the day

that you eat from it and that is the forbidden fruit your eyes will be open and you will be like God knowing good and evil the word therefore knowing can be declaring or determining and that's the idea you can decide for yourself

what is good and what is evil now what Satan has said is half true notice now he said you will not surely die that was a line that was a lie but he also said oh your eyes will be opened you can decide for yourself what is good and

what is evil that was true so he gave that little bit of truth and then noticed that there was a formula that was at work he had Eve to use her senses we'll get into that a little bit later and add to that reason and from that she

simply fell and we'll look at one more instance that is also telling us go to Matthew chapter 4 verse 5 I want you to see that here again Satan is going to use a little truth but he's going to take it out of context and he's

going to twist it just a little bit and Jesus of course shows us the way that we respond to him so we'll pick it up there in five the devil took him and that's Jesus into the holy city and he had him stand on the pinnacle of the temple and

he said to him if you are the son of God throw yourself down for it is written he will command his angels concerning you and on their hands they will bear you up so that you will not strike your foot against a stone again this is true you

will find this recorded it's in the book of psalms and i'll find the chapter for you quickly 91 verse 12 and so what satan's doing is saying hey number one he's insinuating something doesn't come straight out and say it but he's

insinuating you're not the Son of God if you are the son of God and with that insinuation he's bringing doubt he's casting down and so that's the subtlety you see of what he's doing then he quotes scripture and he says hey the

word says the angels will bear you up so you don't dash your foot against a stone and notice what Jesus did his answer is instructive for us he said on the other hand it is written you shall not put the Lord your God to the test that's how you

answer him back see Satan yanked that out of context and tried to get Jesus to doubt who he was who his father was and what he would do Jesus put it back into context and he said you don't tempt God the intention of that Scripture was not

jump off of stuff and see if God will catch you the intention of that Scripture was if you accidentally fall because your father loves you and you are his son then he will catch you and you see there's a difference it's subtle

but there's a difference and that's the formula that we use we look at scripture in its context and we learn what the intent God had so we're going to look at generational curses and just to give you a broad overview this is taught very

oddly today as I looked at it I learned that it's not just in the Pentecostal church but Tony Evans who's a pretty prominent Baptist preacher and has a large congregation and even a international ministry teaches it other

people you would recognize would be Joyce Meyer TD jakes my good old friend Joel Olsteen I pick on him creflo dollar Kenneth Copeland as far as I could discern as I looked through it appeared here in the United States in the 80s

through derek prince was the first one that i found teaching it so what is it then what is the generational curses doctrine well in a nutshell essentially it is that Christians may unwittingly suffer under a spiritual curse that's

passed down to them from their mother their father all the way back to your great grandmother or your great grandfather and this will appear in different ways the way that it's taught you can find it in addictive behaviors

things like alcoholism gambling pornography drug addiction you can find it in abusive behavior spousal abuse child abuse psychological disorders things like fear or rage or anxiety or obsession compulsion or really almost

anything could be divorce failed business or that you're accident prone as I search the way that it's put forward I really didn't see a limit to how it is applied and the explanation that's given is these things seem to run

in your family you seem powerless to overcome despite the fact that you struggle against them they say that the spirit behind the curse has a legal right because of your forbearers sin that it's attached to your family and to

you and that it must be identified and renounced in order for you to be set free so let's take a look then at the justification that's clear we can look and determine we can use our eyes and see that sin and trouble does flow

through time and families that part is true but we want to see whether or not that's a curse from God so the foundation that they give is Exodus chapter 20 verse 5 which reappears again in a couple of places numbers 14

Deuteronomy chapter 5 but it's the same scripture that's referred to in each case and here's the way the part and I want to emphasize that it's just a portion of the scripture that's lifted out it says that I the Lord your God am

a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the father's on the children on the third and fourth generations okay so let's put that together what you do is you observe that their sin and their patterns of sin that flow from one

generation down to the next generation down to the next generation you can see that that does in fact exist then the thinking goes because of what God says there he says I visit the iniquities of the father's to the children to the

third and fourth generation so the idea is that that then is passed down as a curse from God from grand great grandparent grandparent parent and then the child and notice that the the pattern here that's used of that

observation and the little portion of Scripture is a similar pattern to what we saw with Eve she heard a partial truth said that you'll know you'll be like God you'll know what's good and what is evil decide it for yourself that

she used her observations she saw that the tree was the fruit was good for food and it was a delight to her eyes and then she added her reason it was desirable to make you wise and so put those together and that's how she came

up with the sin and it's the way that this doctrine is put together so let's examine it closely like we said we were going to do like we were admonished there in Thessalonians and we'll see if it holds true first I want to restore

the context context is vital that's what we were seeing Jesus do you can't just lift something out of its context and understand the truth of what God intended behind it what I like to say is that text without context is a pretext

for a proof text and approve text is simply backing up the stuff that you already decided just using the scripture but that's that's not the way that we operate let's turn to Exodus chapter 20 verse 4 and we'll begin examining it

more closely and as you find your place there you know I find it interesting the way that counterfeiting works we were talking about subtlety and Satan being subtle you know the Secret Service is charged with fighting counterfeiting

it's their job that's the department now you would think the way you would train someone to spot a fake would be to show them all of the ways that people counterfeit money that they would be very learned in all the subtle

variations on the way that money is duplicated in fact that is not the way that they're trained what they do is they train them completely in how real money is made and what it looks like they look at a whole lot of real money

then when they see the counterfeit they recognize the differences and that's how it works with us so in Exodus chapter 20 verse 4 it says you shall not make for yourself an idol or any likeness of what's in heaven above or on earth

beneath or in the water under the earth you shall not worship them or serve them for I the Lord your God am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the father's on the children on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate me but

showing loving kindness to thousands to those who love me and keep my Commandments so number one this is God and understand it in its context here immediately the immediate context is that Israel has been delivered out of

bondage out of slavery and God now having affected their rescue is really introducing himself to them he had commanded them to purify themselves for three days and then to approach and he came and manifested his presence there

and he was giving to them who he was in fact he was present there to reveal himself and so he's saying i am your Liberator and this is me this is what I'm like the Commandant here that we're dealing with

is one against idolatry that's the immediate context he's saying that you shall not worship idols and notice the ones the iniquity that's being spoken of iniquity means lawlessness it's a transgression that iniquity is the

worship of idols in particular is was talking about and notice what he calls those who worship idols those who hate me now that's consistent through scripture God never varies at all he always says if you love me keep my

Commandments and that if you don't if you transgress my Commandments that you don't love me that you hate me and so the iniquity that's visited is in fact the breaking of his Commandments that's who it's upon whereas the blessings that

come from being with him that's on those who love him and keep his Commandments do you see the distinction that the iniquity is not visited on those who love him but on those who hate him also notice the inference is made in the

teaching that this is something that happens because of one generation say a great-grandfather and then it's passed from that great-grandfather that curse is visited on the grandfather and it's passed from the grandfather down to the

Father and then it's passed from the father down to the Sun but I submit to you the scripture does not say that that is not what it says that it says that when the iniquity is visited and God is always very patient the more that I look

through the scriptures have been rereading the the major prophets lately and I noticed how patient God is now he instructs his children in the way that they should go and then he sends reminder after reminder after a reminder

if they're slipping into sin that to tell them repent turn back from your ways and avoid the wrath that will come the judgment that will come but Israel ignored what he told them again and again concerning I

the tree they always committed idolatry it's amazing that they enjoyed any of his blessings at all but we don't consider that in these days people's life span was longer in the time that this has given people lived about a

hundred and twenty years that was the average and in that period of time when you're talking about generations it took 30 years for a man to grow up and get married that was the average age when a man would get married and so when it was

time for God to deliver a judgment consider not only is the son alive at 30 but he may have a child and then his father is alive his grandfather is alive and his great grandfather is alive do you see how that works in no way is God

saying that I'm going to pass this down from this generation to that generation to that generation to that generation he's saying when i visit the judgment the impact is going to be on the great grand father the grandfather the father

and the child but even in the middle of that as you search the Scriptures out you will find that you can have God's blessing in the middle of a judgment and many of the scriptural heroes do have consider that Daniel was blessed now his

nation was being judged you know why idolatry so they were taken into captivity but Daniel wasn't cursed he was blessed in the prison he was blessed when he got out of the prison and that's the way God's where he was not under a

curse so understand that that's the immediate context that this is about a commandment and that those who are under the judgment are those who hate God and break his Commandments and those who enjoy his blessings are those who love

him and keep them I want to look at the broader context to like Jesus we want to balance the word with the word and you know what we don't have to guess what God meant by what he was saying God actually makes plain what he meant by

what he said by the way that he acted with the nation of Israel the very people who heard what he said that I will visit the iniquities of the father's to the third and fourth generations the cause Israel

constantly broke this commandment you know even while God was putting these Commandments down on tablets of stone and handing them to Moses to bring down to the children of Israel they made a calf and were worshipped worshipping it

at the foot of the mountain they carried their gods with them all the way through the wilderness it is sad it's so sad the way that God loved them so passionately and powerfully and rescued them and the way that they gave him back hate for

love he never deserved that so in the larger context I want you to understand that Israel when they broke this commandment what would happen was God would raise up a nation and he would place them into captivity that would be

a punishment people that were alive there would be three and four generations alive at the time that the punishment was given now if they had prior to this event if they had repented at the word of any of the people that

God sent to them they would have averted the judgment but because they didn't and they were hard-hearted then the nation would come and take them captive which is perfectly fitting because that's what idolatry is isn't that interesting see

when you're worshipping an idol that idol isn't god only god is god only God created everything only he deserves worship and adoration and praise only he can provide only he can protect only he can deliver and there is none other

there is no other name there is no other God and so it is fitting understand he's a father and as a father he doesn't want to bring hurt to his children but when he does when he visits the her it's in order to bring about repentance he wants

to restore them that's his heart and pain if they won't listen to words is the method that he uses and it's always measured precisely to bring about the effect he doesn't take any pleasure in it but he's looking forward to the

result to the repentance and the restoration that's made possible through his correction you see and look at the example of Israel immediately when they would recognize their sin and repent God would raise someone up to deliver them

that's the way he worked and it happened over and over and over you can read through the whole history of the nation of Israel from the time that they were a nation you see them committing idolatry under every Green Tree every high hill

and you see over and over again God sending profits warning them telling them return to him be faithful to him honor him they ignored because they were stubborn and stiff neck so they were carried off into captivity and yes it

affected the grandfather the great-grandfather the father and the son yes it did but as soon as they would cry out in repentance God would deliver them and it went that cycle repeated itself all the way until the time of Jesus when

he came preaching Israel was under Roman occupation and it was still they were still full of idolatry it's very sad so we've covered the third and the fourth generation and I want to look at a more exhaustive in fact this matter is so

close to God's heart that he spends literally a whole chapter addressing it so I want you to turn with me to Ezekiel chapter 18 and I understand that this is going to be a lot but I want to read the whole

chapter it reveals God's heart on the matter and the way that Satan is able to subtly slip in a slight spin on the truth is by giving fragments so we by no means want to just look at fragments we want to see the whole thing so as we've

examined already we looked at the scriptural basis and we've seen that that's frankly lifted out of context it cannot be taken to mean passing down two children two children what about the idea of punishing one generation for the

sins of another well that's something that God is addressing here in Ezekiel chapter 18 it says then the word of the Lord came to me saying what do you mean by using this proverb concerning the Land of Israel saying the father's eat

sour grapes but the children's teeth are set on edge as I live declares the Lord God you are surely not going to use this proverb in Israel anymore behold all souls are mine the soul of the father as well as the soul of the Sun is mine and

the soul who sins will die I just want to pause there for a moment do you hear that God is angry that he's been characterized this way it's a mischaracterization of him understand that when you're saying the fathers ate

sour grapes but the children's teeth are set on edge you are pointing your finger at God and you're saying you're not being fair you're not treating me justly you are unjust I did not deserve what happened to me you're doing it because

of something my father did and you can tell that God is angry what he's saying the soul that sins will die the punishment for the iniquity will be visited on the one who is guilty verse 5 but if a man is righteous and practices

justice and righteousness and we know I know this is lost in nominal Christianity righteousness means doing God says practicing righteousness means keeping God's instructions and being faithful to them that's what

righteousness and justice is his ways are right his ways are just and he reveals them in His commandments and does not eat at the mountain shrines notice that's idolatry or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel

or defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman during her menstrual period if a man does not oppressed anyone but restores to the debtor his pledge does not commit robbery but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the

naked with clothing if he does not lend money on interest or take increase if he keeps his hand from iniquity and execute true justice between man and man if he walks in my statutes and my ordinances so as to deal faithfully he is righteous

and will surely live declares the Lord God now you see if a man practices righteousness and obedience toward the Lord then God will bless that man notice verse 10 then he a righteous man may have a violent son who sheds blood and

who does any of these things to a brother though he himself did not do any of these things that is he even eats at the mountain shrines and defiles his neighbor's wife oppresses the poor and needy commits robbery does not restore a

pledge but lifts up his eyes to the idols and commits abomination he lends money on interest and takes increase will he live he will not live he has committed all these abominations he will surely be put to death his blood will be

on his own head and so he's giving a pattern he's saying that the one who is righteous who practices justice who is obedient to me the one who loves me will be blessed the one who is rebellious the one who is disobedient even if he be the

son of one who is righteous he will suffer the curse see the penalty for sin is death and there are numerous curses you can see them laid out when Israel received the law when they had to repeat

it there I believe its Deuteronomy chapter 30 they literally stood on two sides of a ravine on one side there was a group of Israelites who would pronounce the blessings for observing and keeping God's commandments on the

other side a list of curses for disobeying and failing to observe God's commandments and that's the way it always has been it's as plain as it was in the Garden of Eden there were two trees one represented rebellion the

other one represented obedience one represented the spirit and the blessings that come with it the other one represented the flesh and just doing whatever you think is right you see and with one there would have been the

blessing of eternal life had they chosen it and with the other there were curses and then eventually death and that's the way that it's always been that's the reason that it cries out I put before you today blessing and cursing life and

death therefore choose life that you and your seed may live and that's the way it always has been and that's the way that God deals he is perfectly just he is not unjust look at verse 19 but you say why should the Sun not bear the punishment

of the father's iniquity when the Sun is practiced justice and righteousness and has observed all my statutes and done them he will surely live the person who sins will die The Sun will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity

that's plain isn't it The Sun will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity nor will the father bear the punishment for the sun's iniquity the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself and the wickedness of the

wicked will be upon himself but if the wicked man turns from his sins and that's pivotal the cure isn't for someone to identify for you what sin your great-grandfather they're committed that is nowhere seen

in Scripture the cure is recognized your sin if you're experiencing curses and repent and receive forgiveness so if the wicked man turns from his sins which he's committed and observes my statutes and that's what a that's what turning

from sin is you leave one place you're going to another place you can't do one without the other if you leave disobedience you enter into obedience that's what repentance is when a righteous man turns away from his

let me go back surely live not dying if the wicked man turns from all of his sins which he is committed and observes my statutes and practices justice and righteousness he will surely live and not die all his transgressions which he

is committed will not be remembered against him amen because of his righteousness which he is practice he will live and you see this way back in the Old Testament God is perfectly consistent there's not a mean God in the

Old Testament and a nice one in the New Testament there's just one God and he's always been just he's always been patient he's always been merciful he will live verse 23 do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked

declares the Lord God rather than that he should turn from his ways and live now notice I just want to observe Satan constantly mischaracterizes God that's what happened to him that was the lie that he believed inside of himself that

led him to a rebellion against the one who loved him who created him who placed him on high who put within him beauty and music and made him the seal of perfection and even gave him the signet he began to believe that God was holding

him back that he really ought to be in a higher place that God wasn't one who loved and blessed him but rather one who hated and was trying to keep him down you see he believed that lie in his heart as a result he convinced a third

of the angels that was what God was like then there was war in heaven they literally fought against the only one who loved them the one who created them the one who was blessing and sustaining them how sad is that you see and then we

see we looked at where Satan convinced Eve same thing oh gods not here to bless you know he doesn't want you to have the blessing you could be like him just reach out there and take of that fruit he's holding you back you could be

better off that's what he was selling and she bought it you see but he mischaracterized God to get there he's saying God is holding back from you when all in the world everything that was around them spoke of how loving God was

they talked and walked with him in the cool of the evening it was the most beautiful circumstance that you can imagine better really than we can imagine because it was unspoiled and God had made it and everything there was a

blessing and yet Satan mischaracterized God they believed it and as a result sin and death and pain and misery entered into the human family and even with the very nation of Israel you noticed that Satan had most of them saying don't let

him talk to us he will kill us and you hear what they say when they get up against the Red Sea's brought us out here to kill us and they get across the Red Sea and I can't find water so he's brought us out here to kill us you see

they they constantly think that God is out to get then when in fact he's the very one that is liberating them and bringing them into liberty and the blessing of his presence carrying them like a father cradling his child in his

arms putting a pillar of cloud so the harshness of the Sun won't beat them down in the day and the pillar of fire at night so they'll be warm and have light you see how lovingly he guided them and yet you see they would worship

idols as they went now that is a depraved kind of rebellion and I try not to be too hard on them because i remember when i was studying this one time and I told the Lord how stubborn those people were and how unthankful

they were and he simply revealed to me well you've done that and it was true so I understand that yes that we all have to fight against that but understand what God is saying that he's his desire he doesn't

take any pleasure in the punishment the whole point of the punishment is to bring about repentance verse 25 but you say the way of the Lord is not right here now o house of Israel is my way not right is it not your ways that are not

right when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and dies because of it for iniquity which he's committed he will die again when a wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he is

committed and practices justice and righteousness he will save his life because he considered and turned away from all of his transgressions which he had committed he will surely live he will not die but the house of israel

says the way of the Lord is not right our my way is not right o house of Israel is it not your ways that are not right therefore I will judge you o house of Israel each according to his conduct declares the Lord God and here is the

encapsulated form now I don't know of another subject where God literally puts a whole chapter in the Bible to address the issue but you see where this is what they are accusing him of you're giving me this you're treating me this way

because of something my father did or my grandfather my great-grandfather it became a proverb that's what they were saying when they said that they were repeating a proverb like we say a penny saved is a penny earned or we say early

to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise or some of us say that I mean some of us say you know get up later stay up later all right that's a proverb right that's what they had turned this into the father's eat sour

grapes and the children's teeth are set on edge and every time they said it they were accusing God they probably didn't realize they had come right in league with Satan and they were expressing back to God and imagine how

astonishing this is God who made informed them in His image in his likeness who gave them breath making their heartbeat holding them together with the word of his power breathes that precious life into them and with that

very breath they exhale this accusation back at him that God is unfair and that's an abomination and that's the reason he takes the time so he says I'm going to judge each one according to his conduct and the root of the matter is

repent turn away from all your transgressions so that iniquity might not become a stumbling block for you cast away from you your transgressions which you committed and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit for why

would you die o house of Israel it's the gospel isn't it the Cure isn't for someone to take you through a formula or recognize the sin that your grandfather has committed the cure is to recognize that you have sinned and to repent and

to call on God for his forgiveness and he'll clean up your heart and your mind and he'll set you free and don't you hear his heart and that why why would you die I have no pleasure in it verse 32 for I have no pleasure in the death

of anyone who dies declares the Lord therefore repent and live so from what God is saying there some things are very very clear one thing is that God doesn't punish people for stuff that other people do he's just saying and don't say

that anymore don't say it it's not right if there is a father who is righteous that father will be blessed if that righteous man turns from his righteous ways and begin to commit sin then he will be cursed I'll punish him to bring

him to repentance if he fails to repent he will die but if his son comes up and is righteous that means practice is what I say that child will be blessed he won't be cursed for what his father did the soul that sins will die that's

what he says and the key here is repentance is how your delivered and even back then it was looking forward to one who would make himself a sacrifice on our behalf and moving forward from this idea we can't look through the

whole Bible but I want you to consider a big red flag when you look at the doctrine of generational curses there is no example this many examples zero in the scripture of Jesus or the Apostles ever identifying a generational curse

and then having a deliverance for a person not one time now that's telling for us in other words it's conspicuous by his absence by its absence that is the template that's the model that we follow our faith is based on what the

Apostles did the church that Jesus founded also we want to look at some other scriptures here the New Testament turn with me to Galatians 3 in particular I'd like to look at verse 13 starting in verse 13 Christ redeemed

us from the curse of the law having become a curse for us for it's written cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree in order that Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles so that we would receive the promise of the

Spirit through faith as that's telling us as Christians Jesus bored the curse for us he became the curse so that we might enjoy the blessing of the spirit of who he is his nearness we're not cursed as Christians anymore but we are

under his blessing and turned with me if you will a second Corinthians chapter 5 start in verse 17 therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creature the old things have passed away behold new things have come now all of these things

are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the Ministry of reconciliation namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself not counting their trespasses against them and he has committed to us

the word of reconciliation you see how that works the curse that rightfully should fall on us for our sins fell on him the entirety of Isaiah chapter 53 lines that out you can see what happened when Jesus stepped in between our sin

and the curse the judgment that that would bring it says that it pleased God to crush him he was marred more than any man now God poured out his wrath on Jesus in full measure in full strength and as you see him there understand

that's the curse he was cursed for our sins and in faith as we receive that sacrifice we are no longer under a curse Jesus is not a cursed having risen now and being seated at the right hand of the Father and we are hidden in him we

are brand new creatures the person that we were dies when we become Christians you recognize that that person when we make the commitment we go down in Baptism under the water that represents a grave that is the day that you son of

Adam guilty of sin under the curse is put to death what rises from that grave is what Paul was talking about that it's not me who lives anymore it's Christ now who lives in me now you are you son of the Living God righteous and holy

blessed and seated with Jesus now in heavenly places even though we don't see it we receive it by faith because that's what he says and that means the old man and all of those deeds have died now it's true that we can tell who we are

and we'll go forward and look in Scripture and find it by what we practice that will demonstrate whether or not we have received that forgiveness but if that's the case we are not under a curse not from anything that our

ancestors or four bears have done let's turn to first John chapter 3 we'll start in verse for everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness and sin is lawlessness that's what the definition of sin is means to transgress

God's commandments you know that he appeared in order to take away sin and in him there is no sin and I understand this is hard this is hard to grasp but it means that our lives are hidden in him and that we aim at obedience and

where we fall short because we drag this body of death that sin isn't accounted to us anymore that sin is placed on Jesus at the cross and the curse that comes with it and we receive from him his righteousness and the blessing that

comes with it he appeared to take away those since there's no sin in him and that's where we are no one who abides in him sins and no one who sins has seen him or knows him and that's a matter of practice again it's what are you aiming

at that used to be a question people would ask you what are you aiming at they met what do you mean by what you're saying what we're saying when we say what are you aiming at it means are you aiming at obedience are you careful to

observe what God has said and do you put your heart in that direction then when you fail it is exactly as the promise in Psalm 91 verse 12 that God is there to catch you and bear you up that's what grace is for God gives grace to the

humble who are trying to please him who care about what he says and walk in that way and he will finish that good work that he's begun in you but he resists the proud means he fights back against those who are arrogant and rebel against

him and yes he does visit iniquity on them to get them to repent if they will because he takes no pleasure in his children his children made in His image and likeness everyone planned there is no unwanted child every soul that's what

God said in Ezekiel 18 all so are mine everyone and he loves everyone enough to send Jesus and watch him be brutally butchered the way that he was broken and bruised and to suffer tremendously the way that he did in

order to deliver them it is not his desire for any of his children to perish he wants them to come into everlasting life verse seven little children and that's such a beautiful / phrase I know that's God's heart coming through John

little children make sure no one deceives you you see and he wouldn't say this if that were not a deception that was put out there people will tell you how you are righteous is when you join a church when you become more religious

when you begin exploring religious things because you attend religious services that is never the right the judge for righteousness it's never the measure of righteousness the measure of righteousness is doing what's right do

you aim at and do you practice doing what God in fact says to do if you do then you are righteous by God's definition and you love him if you are careless if you are negligent about it if you don't seek to understand what he

says and attempt to do it then you hate him and that's the way that he looks at it little children make sure no one deceives you the one who practices righteousness that just means practicing doing and saying and thinking what is

right those are God's commandments that person is righteous just as God is righteous and the one who practices sin is of the devil for the devil is sent from the beginning and the Son of God appeared for this purpose to destroy the

works of the devil now some of the works of the devil or all of those things that visit you the devil is a tool in God's shed that's the way that it works did the devil stir up egypt and the Pharaoh to begin treating Israel as if they were

slaves rather than honoring them yeah the devil did that but only under God's auspices only because God gave him that leeway to do it and God metered it out so that he could bring about repentance which eventually they did although it

took them a very long time to repent of their idolatry and then of course we know they repeated it over and over again and that's how you can tell who is who but understand that Jesus came to undo the works of the devil he became

the curse turn with me to James chapter 4 and we'll start at verse 4 you adulteresses do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God therefore whoever wishes to

be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God or do you think that scripture speaks to no purpose he jealously desires the spirit which he's made to dwell in us but he gives a greater grace therefore it says God is

opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble submit therefore to god resist the devil and he will flee from you draw near to God and He will draw near to you cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your hearts you

double-minded be miserable and mourn and weep let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom humble yourselves in the presence of the lord and he will exalt you now notice that he's addressing adultery that is what

idolatry is and it's always idolatry when you act against the things that God has said because you're holding something else in his place whether that be your intellect or even a little wooden tiki god we think that we don't

practice idolatry today because we don't know people I don't know anybody that has a little tiki somewhere with a little shrine around it but the truth is that idolatry is practiced any time that you put anything before God that's the

definition of idolatry and so he's saying friendship with the world and that just means putting the world those people who are practicing disobedience to God when you put them in a higher spot than God he's saying that's

adultery now how is that any different than Israel how is that any different than having an astronaut in a little box that you carry with you it's the same see it's the same there's only one first place you can't have two things in first

place you see and that's why James is addressing this to the church you would think that idolatry would have been a thing of the past but he's not he's telling them that you are committing Allah tree you were being adulteresses

if you are friendship or if you're a friend of the world now and that doesn't mean necessarily the people it's the system it's it's the rebellion you cannot hold Satan's hand in God's hand at the same time it's what Amos 33 says

can two walk together lest they be agreed if you're agreed with God then you are an enemy of the world and it's ways and the reverse is also true you see if you are friends with the world and you walk with and agree with its

ways then you're an enemy of God and that's what he's saying therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God or do you think it speaks to no purpose that he jealously desires the spirit

which he's made to dwell in us you see it's the same thing that we heard he's a jealous God jealousy is ugly when people practice it because we are not God it is wrong to desire just to ourselves now it's true when you have a mate and you

make that commitment they belong to you and you alone that's right but other people they don't just belong to us they belong to God but when God is jealous it's not a selfish thing itself less it's the opposite because he's the only

one that can give you life the only one who can provide for you the only one who can protect you you see it's right it's actually in your best interest that he be jealous for you remember how it said I'm a jealous God so he's saying he

jealously desires that spirit which he's made to dwell in us but notice he opposes the proud he gives grace to the humble and that's what he said at some length isn't an in Ezekiel chapter 18 and throughout the whole scripture isn't

that right how did he treat able well able in obedience was trying to please the Lord his sacrifice demonstrated it and so god blessed him Cain wasn't interested in pleasing the Lord his sacrifice demonstrated it and so God

came and reasoned with him and he said Cain sin is crouching at the door its desire is for you and send we know in a person it was Satan that was crouching at his door and he desired to destroy him that's what he wanted to do

it was trying to infect Cain with his attitude toward god but God plainly says Cain if you do right if you practice righteousness then you will be accepted I'm not playing favorites you see it's the very thing that Kane really was

accusing God of your playing favorites you just like able better it wasn't true God loved Cain and gave him his own special gifts and he's saying if you would just do right then you would be accepted but notice he said you've got

to master it he was telling him that look a a cane was not under some curse from Adam that he had to submit to sin you see he wasn't powerless as Satan would try to get him to think to overcome it God's did not give him a

command that he couldn't keep he just said do right why would you perish I don't take any pleasure in it I love you I'll accept you but you must do right to be with me and to enjoy the blessings and we know what happened as a result

and Cain did not repent and look at the mercy that God gave him I marvel at it I mean God didn't just wipe him out you would think look what happened I mean he murdered his brother do you see that he acted out murder he spilled the blood

the blood that God had made you know it wasn't supposed to be spilled the purpose of blood is for life it's supposed to be life and staying his children and he had to witness that and that's the way it goes with sin so you

see how God resists the proud fights back against the proud but he gives grace to the humble and that just means just as we were saying those who care about an attempt to obey Him who carefully observe his word to do it and

so it says submit to god resist the devil and he will flee from you means the devil's got ronnie has no power over a Christian Satan has been defeated Jesus defeated him before he even started his ministry

he had to go through it remember how Moses had to spend forty years in the wilderness before he could begin his ministry of delivering Israel that was a type you see Jesus was the one and he spent 40 days in the wilderness being

tempted and tried and tested by the devil and we looked at one of those passages he defeated Satan and then he came back full of the Holy Spirit and began his ministry which was an assault on Satan and his kingdom as we read he

was undoing those curses he was as he put boldly declared right there in the synagogue I'm going to set the captives free the the strong man has been bound you can't walk into a strong man's house and take his stuff unless you tie him up

first well he had tied him up and as you know of course there was the great grand finale when Jesus said after being bowed down with the care of the whole world and all eternity was on his shoulders there and he said nobody's taken my life

from me I'm going to lay it down myself I lay it down have the power to lay it down if the power to take it back up again and he said this is your hour and the power of darkness so Satan was given that moment to work but it was for our

good it was for our good that's the reason that God's can say that it pleased him to crush his son because he could look forward and see the fruit that would be born of it that it would accomplish repentance and restoration

and freedom and life for eternity for his children you see that that was the point so he had defeated Satan he defeated him right there on that cross where Satan really probably thought that he had finally triumphed that he had

killed the one that he viewed as his enemy and yet as we know heroes the grave couldn't hold him he rose from the dead and that was evidence you see that he had defeated him and that he didn't have any power now our

physical bodies yes we were born even as David said behold I was all together conceived and sin your physical body your first birth yeah you inherited a sinful nature from Adam but understand that man dies that woman dies when

you're converted when you fall on your knees when you fall on your face and you tell God that you're wrong you've been wrong you've sinned and you're sorry and you don't want to do it anymore you want to commit yourself to obeying him from

now on everything that you know that he wants you to do you are saying yes beforehand and so as evidence outward evidence of that inside commitment that you've made your placed under the water that person dies there was a curse yes

but that person is gone that's not who you are now you are new creation in Christ Jesus and God does not fight against his own children that's why I says submit to God the devil will flee from you he has no right you see he has

no right to you let's turn to Romans chapter 8 paul has just done a very lengthy analysis of the sin that seems to dog our steps the very things that people would point to and say you see you're

under a curse but he recognizes that a Christian is committed to trying to please the Lord that's the humble one that receives the grace don't you know that as parents I mean don't you see how that works you have grace and you also

visit iniquity don't you as a parent you do both things if you've got a child that cares about pleasing you and in the effort of trying to please you if that child slips and doesn't do it perfectly you don't visit that iniquity that is

not the time to spank the child that's the time to bless the child because you know the heart the heart is perfectly willing and that helps that child to grow up and to be more like you that's what happens whereas if you have a child

that's rebellious and doesn't care what pleases you and doesn't put their effort in that direction when they threw their negligence or sometimes just threw outright rebellion when they are opposing you then that's when you bring

the punishment for the iniquity for the lawlessness for the transgression for the rebellion and the whole purpose of that do you hate your child when you do that no quite the contrary you love your child when you do that the purpose is to

bring them to a place where they repent and they come into line so that you can bless them and so that's how we are now as Christians we're committed to loving and obeying our Father and that's where he concludes therefore there is no

condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus so is it possible for you to be accursed if you're in Jesus is Jesus accursed god forbid absolutely not it's not possible that person died and Satan has no right to you for the law of the

spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death for what the law could not do week as it was through the flesh God did sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin

he condemned the sin in the flesh that way the requirement of the law is fulfilled in us we don't walk according to a flesh but according to the spirit that's how we walk you see that's what we practice and as a result there's no

condemnation there's no condemnation on you because of what your grandmother did or your great-grandmother your grandfather I've heard it I know Larry mentioned that i went to a town called thomaston georgia was just outside of

alabama and I'd struggled tremendously with many health trials and there is abundant sin in my family looking back I'm sure there is in every family you know and so I thought I recognized that pattern and Steven who was the senior

pastor there and a good friend heard about this and he said well just come with us I I want to see you delivered and that's what their ministry is so I went to this place and I think it was a five day thing I know it was several

days in a row and we would go and attend the services and essentially they would walk you through identifying just make a little laundry list of who your parents were and your grandparents and your great it's best you know and you would

hear things like well your grandfather was a Mason well that means that it's been passed down to you you have the spirit of lust and that's the reason that you can't seem to break that or your great-grandmother was an eastern

star and that's why you have a spirit of matriarchal witchcraft that's why you won't submit to your husband and then sometimes if you couldn't think of things then a person with the anointing with a special anointing would read that

into you would just say well what kind of trouble are you having in your life aha well I know what it is I have revelation on that well the problem with that is it's simply not scriptural you see and what it does and understand

Satan is subtle it's a subtlety it's not forthright he appears as an angel of light and he only gives just the slightest little twist or spin on something that is the truth in order to achieve something that's far out of line

it's very much like if you imagine taking a very long voyage if you set your course correctly then you arrive at the destination like let's say you aim for Mars that's a long way off if you are dead on to the degree you'll

arrive at Mars but what if you're a half a degree off well you can't really even see that as you exit the atmosphere as you pass by the moon you can't tell a degree but what will happen is you're going to miss Mars all together in other

words down the line it grows and that's the way that it works with this I mean it seems a small thing but understand and it appeals just like it did to Eve it appeals doesn't it if someone will release you from your personal

responsibility we all like to be released from that isn't that true it's not your fault it's not your fault your grandfather did it to your grandmother did it to you that's the draw that's part of the hook that we're being pulled

with is part of the bait you see and then likewise it has an appeal for those who teach it because you get to be wise and strong but the thing is it's not your place it's not your place to step into what only Jesus could do nobody

else has been the mediator between God and man no one else could step into the gap that is between us because of our sin when we suffer we deserve it he alone was able to bear the wrath on our behalf because he was righteous and he

always did those pleat those things that please the father he did love the Lord his God with all of his heart mind soul and strength something we've never accomplished on our own you see and no person can stand in that place you see

so there's an appeal but now as Christians we're not under that law of sin and death we're not under a curse anymore Jesus under went our curse he became our curse he didn't leave anything out

there's not a hint of anything that has a right to burden us now do we recognize sinful desires do we see that there are patterns of sin sure those things are true that's the little kernel of truth that's true you can have a

characteristic that you're taught by your environment that's true we all as David plainly said we're all born into sin we're all we receive in our flesh a sinful nature and we fight against it that's what it means when he says take

up your cross every day put that fleshly nature to death you see but we are not powerless there's no curse where Satan has some power to manipulate us like a marionette and the Cure isn't defined some man with particular insight and to

go through some formula or to speak a certain thing to have that broken off of you it's not on you even as God counseled Cain yes n is crouching at your door we recognize that and it wants to destroy you Satan wants to destroy

you but you should rule over it and you're a binomial are you obliged to obey sin or sinful desires and that's why there's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus set you

free from the law of sin and death the law could in no way do it it was weak the law wasn't week it was the flesh that was weak so God sent his own son to do what the law could not do and let's just address this now you think God is

unfair you think the punishment is unjust you think he doesn't treat you right do you see what it did to him do you recognize that it tore his son apart your sin the judgment is just the offence against a righteous and a loving

father is an abomination to rebel against the one who only ever loved and blessed you and desired your good for all eternity in a place in his family that's it Jesus bore a greater punishment than we

can imagine and it is a great insult to God to accuse him of being unjust or to punish us for something somebody else did the only person who got punished for something somebody else did was Jesus the problem was sin the cure was

repentance through the person of Jesus and his sacrifice now that's the plain truth that's a real life genuine bill and it helps you to see the difference between what is true and what is false so we see then and it's that passage

goes on that we're not in an obligation anymore to carry out the deeds of the flesh we're not obliged we're not bound anymore drove me to John chapter 8 like to look at verse 36 I know we were just looking at this it's just very brief

it's also very profound so if the son makes you free you will be free indeed you see it was the son who set us free completely free really free it's not an illusion of freedom you can have that certainly when I was in rebellion in my

life I think we all do that it's the height of irony I remember feeling like I'm finally free I'm finally calling the shots man no more somebody pushing me around telling me what to do no sir and the irony of it is in that moment I

simply turned from obeying God who loves me and to Satan and I was fulfilling what he wanted me to do and he hates me I mean I'm yelling I'm free while I'm getting myself all wrapped up in Chains it's sad isn't it but it is I have to

admit it's kind of comical so let's let's review a little bit going back and just looking at it the whole idea of the generational curses doctrine the way that it's purported is that you can look and trace that there are curses

that there are sins and patterns of sin that run down through lineages they lift a certain part of a passage there in Exodus chapter 20 where it says that God visits the iniquities of the father's to the third and the fourth generation and

together they add pop psychology a little bit a whole laundry list of things that could be wrong we recognize that we can see that those things are wrong and so they do a thing that you can find no pattern for no example of in

Scripture they assert a thing that is patently false that you are somehow as a Christian under a curse now in that chapter in Exodus chapter 20 God plainly says that there is a curse that's visited to the third and fourth

generations it does not say that it's passed down that could very easily easily simply mean when God makes a judgment the great grandfather's alive at the same time that the son is alive it could mean that we don't see where

one is passing it down to another and so that is visited on those who hate him by committing lawlessness but not on those who love him by attempting to obey Him you see and then if that were not clear enough he gives all of Ezekiel chapter

18 to address the issue I am NOT unjust I don't want to hear it anymore stop saying that now I don't take any pleasure in punishing my children but when I do it I do it so they will come to repentance and be delivered from

their bondage the soul who sins will die but why would you die repent and he even gives the formula there it's so beautiful and you see where the hold the Gospel message is that is there talks about a new spirit and a new heart you

see and then as we look through the New Testament we start to see where Jesus bore the curse he became the curse we're not a cursed the old man died and i know it is an affront to god for us to walk around saying that he's

unfair now I'll grant you even as it was said before we began the study that we carelessly take things for granted I certainly do honestly I thought this was a real thing that generational curses doctrine I went to that place i had a

little sheet that was a formula it told me how to to recognize and to renounce the individual curses that were on my life imagined who was that curse pronounced upon i was a christian that's saying that Jesus is accursed he's not a

cursed there is no curse on me what's true is yes there are their tendencies to send sure there are but that's just the old flesh that's dying anyway my heart and my mind like Paul's in Romans chapter 7 that preceded chapter 8 their

intent on obeying him and so there's grace for that there's no curse on that I wasn't obligated so I was surprised somewhat honestly when I was looking at the scripture but honestly it's a very pleasant surprise I see I see the evil

that can be perpetrated by twisting what God says and who he is just a little bit it doesn't seem like a big thing but you see any time you get in the habit of lifting and absolving responsibility off of yourself and placing it on someone

else don't you see how that changes the way that it works itself out now you watch where this is practice and see does it produce a people who are liberated no quite the contrary it looks a whole lot like the Corinthian church

looked wear these wear this is practiced because people are saying well I can't help it or they walk around looking all the time for bondages that their grandparents brought to them when the focus should be on Jesus and the

deliverance that he's brought and if there be any sin then you repent before him and he enables you to walk it out and freedom you see it's subversive and it'll have an evil effect and it has an evil effect on the leaders to they

begin to practice nicolay attend ism which God plainly says that he hates and that word simply means to conquer the laity meaning to use to take power over people the way that jesus told His disciples we don't do it like that now

you see the Pharisees and the Sadducees and how they lord it over people we don't do that you watch my example watch me wash your feet that's how you do it God plainly says he holds individuals responsible for individual choices he's

perfectly just and does not punish us for the sin of others and Jesus was a sufficient sacrifice that blood it covers everything we don't reach back in there in the murky darkness of the waters of our past and fish out sins God

forgets them and puts them away they don't attach or belong to you and I mean what's wonderful news is that we're free as the word says we're free indeed and there's more depth clearly in fact I'm a little surprised now to be about 15

minutes early but I suppose you can consider that grace the booklet will have absolutely well yeah and that's a good that's a good point the kings of Israel and Judah are a salient example if you have a king for instance if

you'll remember the first king the way it happened other nations ended up with Kings that's the way that they chose to rule themselves that's not the way that God had designed for Israel to operate they were to have one king they didn't

need a mediator and they were always trying to put somebody between them and God which I know broke God's heart because he wanted them to experience the blessings of being up close to them but they looked around and they saw that

other nations had kings and so they were clamoring give us a king and God said alright if that's what you want give it to you I'll give you what you're asking for so you see they picked Saul and Saul was everything that you would

want in a king he would win a political contest if he were running today because he was tall he was good-looking he seemed confident and so in the flesh people would look at him and think you know that guy would be a good leader i

could easily trust him but the truth was that he wasn't like he appeared he really feared men more than god he was an idolatry I mean it's ironic to me that on the day that he was to be anointed king there and presented to

Israel he was hiding in the baggage he was scared of people he was afraid of people but he didn't fear God and so he was anointed and God certainly blessed him even though it was a lesser thing to have a king than to have God as your

king it was a more blessed thing but he began to usurp God's Authority he was practicing lawlessness he was told to destroy all of the people and all of their flocks and herds etc and he decided because of the people you know

just like politics like you put your finger in the air and you want to get anybody upset with me so he spared a king and he spared some livestock and when Samuel came and confronted him on it he said oh I've done the will of the

Lord behold I've done the will of the Lord he said well what is that lowing of the cattle that I here then if you did what God said that's not righteousness you're not practicing righteousness and he repeated this pattern essentially he

showed that he had more respect for people and what people thought than what God said so as a result God removed his holy spirit from him now the person who came after him was David now let me ask you a question was David a cursed

because of what's all did was he did God visit a punishment on David for what Saul had done saw clearly as we saw in Ezekiel 18 had been wicked and acted wickedly even though he was quick to absolve himself uh don't everything God

said no he didn't no he didn't but notice the punishment fell on Saul for that God rightly punished Saul Saul did not repent and he ended up tragically he fell on his sword I believe in that

right killed himself I don't think his armor bear would do it for him would he know so sad but now David was a man after God's own heart who would do all of God's good pleasure so he anointed him he brought him up to be king and the

nation of Israel was blessed now again we see David did not perfectly do everything that God said did he slip and fall yeah he did it was a big fall and it was in public so God had to punish him as a result but now you would think

then did God punish Solomon his son who came after him for Davidson no he blessed Solomon notice how he comes to Solomon and he says what would you like he appears to him personally and says ask me anything that you want I'll give

it to you he wasn't visiting that iniquity of David on Solomon and neither didn't he bless david as he reigned even though there was a consequence for his sin he didn't take his spirit from him notice how David cries out don't take

your Holy Spirit from me because he had seen that happen with song didn't he and God didn't and he kept him in office you know I remember when Clinton was involved in a scandal in the White House and I remember thinking man they just

need to kick that bum out of there behavin like that setting that kind of example now I did not see him repent publicly I saw him publicly say it depends on what the definition of is is and then try to subtly twist a word to

use a word that other people would take to mean one thing in order to deceive them to pretend his innocence when he was in fact guilty so I did not see David's heart not fasting in sackcloth and ashes and on his face asking to be

forgiven I didn't see that but notice that God kept David in office in fact he made him many promises he wouldn't let him build temple that was a consequence but he did let Solomon do it as a result and you

see over and over again that God would bless the Kings like Josiah who came along his his father had been wicked the king before him had been wicked in fact God's law had been lost people didn't even know what God had asked them to do

anymore you know it reminds me of what happens today right now today Americans really don't know what kind of country this is because there's been a concerted effort to take out of the for our very Declaration of Independence and our

Constitution they've been obscured and misrepresented to the point where when you begin to read and look at those documents you are shocked at the way they are administered how far we've fallen and that's the same way it was in

josiah's day the word had been hidden to the point where people didn't even know how sinful they had become and when one copy of the scriptures was found in the temple and brought to him he had it read to him and he's just a young man a child

really he rips his clothing he recognizes he sinful and he repents and God blesses him God loved him and blessed him but now after him was a wicked King and that really as you look through the scriptures you'll see that's

the way that it is with God he's always that way he's always fair if anyone and that's what he's showing in Ezekiel I mean honestly it's almost like a legal contract the way he spells it out I mean he says it number one that's not true

I'm not unjust the children's teeth are not set on edge because the father drank or eight the sour grapes but then he goes to great lengths to say if one is righteous I will bless him now if his son after him is not righteous then I am

NOT going to bless him I will curse him but if his son comes after him and his righteous I will bless him and that's the way that God is you know I'm astounded as I look across and I like to see

what people are saying in God's name what they say and as I look out there are subtle deceptions that don't seem like such a big deal but what they do is they obscure the nature of God what he's really like you see and when that

happens it's you it's already a done deal when you're starting from that foundation which is false you can't stand nothing that you build their will stand you must be built on the truth and that's why it's important part of our

Commission is to expose things that are not true literally expose means to put out X means out pose means to place we expose not only do we reveal what's not truth but then we put it out and as we do then we realize our Liberty we're set

free we don't have to fret and worry about what our great-grandfather did or waste the time researching it or cower under the belief somehow that Satan has some mighty power he always likes to masquerade like he's got power you know

Satan is like a dog on a leash he's he's got the freedom to go so far and no farther and he can't do anything you can't curse Jesus he's not a cursed we're free were set free from that and whom the son sets free is free indeed

hallelujah thank you David praise the Lord back over to Exodus chapter 20 again where God is giving the Israelites of 10 commandments you know this is often of the office like David I assumed I've prayed for people to be delivered

from generational curses just because of simply that things that I'd heard I didn't check it out I didn't look at it until we did this study and I'm like David I was suppressed but you know it's presented as people being held under

bondage by the all about spirits of the devil but what we read here in Exodus chapter 20 notice it says verse 5 talking about idols you will not worship them or serve them for I the Lord your God am a jealous God

visiting the iniquity of the fathers are the children of the third before generations who is it this doing it it's not a demon it's not the devil it is God and it's pretty presumptuous to think that somehow you're going to cast

something that God has authorized out you know when God makes a judgment he makes a judgment now we cast out demons we deliver people from demons and from spirits we lay hands on on people we cast out demons but now when you're

talking about something the Lord has authorized that would be like David trying to cast out the spirit that God had sent upon Saul remember when he sent the spirit upon Saul and Saul disobeyed David's a man of God me he's he'll try

to cast out something that the devil has that God has sent and in this case this is not something that that is a result of the devil it's a result of God but like like a black David said there's a there's a lot of difference between

visiting the iniquity and putting a curse on someone it doesn't say curse nowhere does it say that God you know visit that curses children because of something their parents do although we are blessed and then

y'all rise you so you
